Historical tile panels and decorations were reproducedWithin the scope of the project, the historical tile panels and ornaments found in Topkapı Palace, Rüstem Pasha Mosque, Eyüp Sultan Mosque and various museums were faithfully reproduced.
These works were produced by adhering to traditional pattern drawing techniques and underglaze painting methods, and were blended with contemporary interpretations of the classical style.
Thus, it was aimed to both preserve a historical heritage and revive the art of tile making today.
The reproduction of the "Bird Board" is noteworthyThe exact reproduction of the 127x47 centimeter tiled panel, popularly known as the "Bird Panel," located on the outer wall of the Circumcision Room in the Topkapı Palace Museum, stood out as one of the striking works of the exhibition.
The work, which has been inherited from the 16th century, also attracts attention as the largest monolithic tile panel bearing the characteristics of the period.
The "Timeless Traces" exhibition is also of great importance as it demonstrates how Turkish tile art, nourished by the deep roots of the past, is reinterpreted by today's artists.
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the subtleties of tile art.In this respect, the exhibition will both keep the heritage of traditional handicrafts alive and breathe new life into tile art by combining it with modern art.
Throughout the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to closely observe the intricacies of tile art from the Ottoman period to the present day and to discover the aesthetic relationship between historical and contemporary works.
